THE IROQUOIS HISTORY AND LEGENDS PODCAST

Ways to support the show

The life of a podcaster can be a lonely one.   To encourage us to plod on as we dig through 17th and 18th century diaries and journals to try and write an entertaining show you could do several things:

#1. Feel free to leave us a review on iTunes, Spotify or Audible.  A positive 5 Star ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ review means that more people will see our show in the rankings and therefore tune in.  We don't want to keep the amazing history and culture of the Haudenosaunee a secret. If you have enjoyed the show. Please write how much you like us and we would be happy to "adopt you" into our pseudo-clan.

#2. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @IroquoisHistory A simple like lets you know whenever a new show is out. You will also see interesting facts in your news feed from us.

#3. Write us. You can email us at longhousepodcast@gmail.com, tag us on Twitter or message us on Facebook.

#4.  Tell your friends. Word of mouth is the best way that our show as a whole can grow. Share our posts, retweet that episode, awkwardly mention to your friends on Euchre night that you listen to history podcasts. Tell them how cool it is as they stare blankly at you.

“As an actual real life Seneca Indian I find this podcast informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the free SPC mug next time I’m back home 👊🏼”

Amazing, highly recommended. When I saw this show in podcast listings I thought: "Well, that looks neat, I'll probably listen to an episode or two" and threw it in my subscriptions. I was unprepared for just how good it was going to be, right from episode one. I highly recommend this podcast for anyone and everyone.

Wonderful new podcast
The first episode of Iroquois History and Legends was just so good. You would think these guys had been doing the show for years. These guys really know how to set a scene and tell a story. I can't wait to see where this show goes next.

Awesome start!
I can't wait to hear more. Great voices, great story telling!

Very well put together.
Great podcast. These guys put together a great and easy to listen to narrative, while putting in a lot of information from many sources. These guys definitely put in a lot of time and effort. Fantastic job from two guys doing this as a pastime.

Good telling on a complex topic
The brothers do a good job of handling the history, historiography, and epistemology of a very complex world and do so in good humour. I've just finished the up to episode eight and I enjoy the walk through oral history, written documents, and archaeology. It's a real interdisciplinary approach.

What a great podcast!I grew up in Western New York, so I was interested in Iroquois history. I thought I'd give this podcast a try, and I'm glad I did, because I love it! It's so well-done and informative, I absolutely recommend it to anyone.

WHO KNEW? This is a ridiculously interesting subject, presented in an incredibly casual and approachable way. I had absolutely no idea that Native American culture in general was so rich, complex or interesting. Now I know better thanks to these guys. Even the corny, bad set ups ("He couldn't possibly do that?" "Well, that's exactly what he did.") are enjoyable and give me a warm feeling.

Love the podcast! Look forward to each and every podcast with anticipations Caleb and Andrew are fun and easy to listen to. Being a history teacher I continue to learn from them.

This podcast is fantastic. These guys are hilarious, very knowledgeable, and make this forgotten part of history easy to understand and entertaining!

This has to be one of the best history podcasts I've listened to. Andrew and Caleb work seamlessly together to keep the narrative flowing smoothly. Good sound quality and good choice of music. Thank you for covering a topic that probably isn't that familiar to most of us.

Simply astonishing.
Easily one of my favorite podcasts. It stands alone trying to tell the story and history of the Iroquois people. Caleb and Andrew really care about the subject matter, and the Wild Sweet Potato Clan is easily one of the best "listener groups" of any of the podcasts I've found. If you want to know about the Iroquois, American history or simply something to entertain you for a while, I highly recommend this cast. In fact, I installed iTunes just to write this review.

I live in Ohio and the history of the Iroquois is inextricably tied to the Lenape, Wyandot, Shawnee and Miamis of this place I call home. I appreciate the connections made events of Western PA and Ohio in the podcasts. I am a huge 18th century Ohio history nerd as well as a Native history nerd. This podcast feeds my soul! Keep it up, guys!

“This is by far the best podcast I have ever listened to. I have been listening for years and for some odd reason I haven't reviewed it until now. I am on my 3rd or 4th time relistening to the episodes. I am happy to join the wild sweet potato clan.”

★★★★★ Anton Wilde
In my desire to learn more about where I come from, I discovered this podcast. They're fun to listen to, and acknowledge that sometimes, history is awful. It's because of this podcast that I found a piece of my heritage. I will forever be grateful.
